Welcome to Unique Spaces Organizing. My name is Jill and I started organizing professionally in 2008. But that’s not the beginning of my story.
I was your typical child and teen … if it had to be cleaned I was nowhere to be seen. Things were different at school. My desk was always tidy and homework papers orderly. As a teen, my favorite jobs were always ones where I could put things in order, group like items together and rearrange spaces so they were more organized. In general I just loved to organize stuff. I was pretty sure my ideas were better and made much more sense. Needless to say,I made the home front a little crazy for Mom.
Over the years,I continued organizing in every environment and activity I was involved in. I often wondered where this need came from.
Granny
Recently,I’d been thinking a lot about my grandmother (Granny W.). I realized that she is the reason I have such a fascination with organizing. Her pantry was an organized delight filled with jars of fruit,veggies,and jellies all lined up in tidy rows by size and type. She knew exactly what she had in her house because she always kept like items together. She could find anything you ask for within 10 minutes. Granny W. recycled when recycling wasn’t even a concept. I remember the 2″x2″ folded bread bags in a box in a kitchen drawer. She never knew when she might need a plastic bag for something. Thinking back,she was the first organizer I every met and was she ever a professional . So this blog is dedicated to my Granny W.
