The gift wrapping station in this retail store was divided by a walk way. Some wrapping supplies were against the wall and others were on or under a small counter. There wasn’t enough room to wrap anything of any size.
The lack of organization and clutter annoyed the owner and was unproductive for the employees.
After discussing the owner’s needs for a gift wrapping area,we came up with a plan.
We moved the small counter against the wall and placed an interior door on top of it. This extended the surface area for wrapping gifts to seven feet. Next we removed everything that was not a wrapping supply to another area. Hooks and holders for paper and ribbon were mounted on the wall above the wrapping surface. Scissors,labels and supplies were placed on the hooks or in containers on the surface. Other supplies were stored in open shelves under the counter. The cluttered place became a unique space where gift wrapping could be accomplished with ease.
